About the Role We are seeking an energetic and passionate Chef who takes pride in preparing meals that look, smell and taste amazing. Working under the direction of the Head Chef, you will play a key role in delivering an enjoyable dining experience that supports our residents’ health, wellbeing and quality of life. This role requires a sound understanding of the aged care environment and the Aged Care Quality Standards, along with patience, empathy and a resident-focused approach. In a typical shift, you will: Prepare and cook nutritious, appetising meals in line with aged care standards and the approved menu Cater for special dietary requirements, including allergies, texture-modified diets and pureed meals Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, including equipment and utensils Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and HACCP requirements Adhere to workplace health and safety and legislated food hygiene practices Supervise and support kitchen team members, delegating tasks as required Deliver efficient, friendly service with a positive attitude Assist the broader team as required What we're looking for: If you are proactive, enthusiastic and looking to explore new opportunities, we want to hear from you. The ideal candidate will bring: Previous experience in aged care (minimum 2 years desirable) Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher Ability to supervise, mentor and support team members Current knowledge of food safety standards, WHS principles and best practice Understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Current National Police Clearance (essential) Available to work set roster Thursday - Monday each week (75hrs/fn) Why Join Us?
